Nextchem unveils 100% recycled urban transport seat at Milano Design Week using NX Replast™

Key highlights
  • Nextchem and MyReplast Industries convert post-consumer plastics into high-quality recycled polymer using NX Replast™.
  • Lazzerini collaborated to produce a 100% recycled public transport seat from that polymer.
  • Material and product engineered for strength, durability and aesthetics, with a return-to-MyReplast end-of-life plan to close the loop.
  • Project presented at a Milano Design Week exhibition curated by Materially and hosted at Stecca3.

Exhibition and partners

Nextchem participated in Materially’s “The New State of Materials” exhibition at Stecca3 in Milan’s Isola district during Milano Design Week 2026, collaborating with Lazzerini and MyReplast Industries.

Technology and feedstock

Post-consumer plastics were processed with Nextchem’s NX Replast™ technology at MyReplast Industries to produce a recycled polymer engineered to meet project specifications.

Product and circularity

The collaboration produced a public transport seat made from 100% recycled polymer, designed for strength, durability and aesthetics, with an end-of-life plan to return material to MyReplast to close the loop.
