Nextchem (MAIRE) to supply NX STAMI™ Urea technology for SABIC AN’s SAN-7 complex

Contract and scope
Through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, Nextchem has been selected to provide the technology package for SABIC AN’s SAN-7 fertilizer project in Al Jubail. Stamicarbon’s scope includes a licensing agreement with SABIC and contracts with the EPC contractor for the Process Design Package (PDP) and proprietary equipment, based on the NX STAMI™ Urea technology.
Capacity and value
The grassroots fertilizer plant will comprise two urea production units, each rated at 3,850 metric tons per day. The total value of the technology package is approximately €125 million.
Strategic context
The award aligns with SABIC’s strategy to expand Saudi Arabia’s fertilizer production and export capabilities and supports the Kingdom’s industrial development objectives under Vision 2030.
