ttz Bremerhaven mobile green hydrogen station enables rapid hydrogen bus deployment in Lower Saxony
- Mobile refuelling station went into operation in December 2025 to supply six fuel-cell buses.
- Lhyfe supplies RFNBO‑certified green hydrogen via bulk Type IV containers.
- MoviaTec operates the station and manages safety, inspections and commissioning support.
- Permanent refuelling station in Schortens (JadeWeserPark) is scheduled to enter service in 2026.
Project snapshot
A mobile hydrogen refuelling station supplied by ttz Bremerhaven and operated by MoviaTec has been in service since December 2025 to supply six fuel-cell buses operated by Weser-Ems-Bus in Jever, Lower Saxony. Green, RFNBO‑certified hydrogen is delivered by Lhyfe using bulk Type IV containers.
Roles and capabilities
ttz Bremerhaven provided the mobile station and is conducting scientific monitoring to collect operational data on buses in daily service. MoviaTec runs the refuelling operations, handling explosion protection documentation, visual inspections, operational checks and commissioning support. Lhyfe supplies sustainably certified hydrogen from its production sites and transport fleet.
Operational performance
The station dispenses hydrogen at 350 bar, the common pressure for buses and commercial vehicles. Early refuelling operations have shown faster turnaround than initial simulations, meeting or exceeding partner expectations and validating modeled refuelling scenarios under real conditions.
Next steps
Partners will optimise refuelling operations and analyse vehicle consumption data while the permanent refuelling station in Schortens (JadeWeserPark) is completed and planned to enter service later in 2026.
