Deal details

Metso has signed a five‑year analyzer Life Cycle Services agreement with a major copper producer in South America, valued at over EUR 40 million. The first part of the order is booked to the Minerals segment's third‑quarter orders received; further bookings will be made according to a predefined milestone schedule.

Scope and delivery

The agreement combines on‑stream analyzer technology, engineering expertise and long‑term operational support under a single commercial framework. The scope includes analyzer modernization, new analyzer and sampling systems, technical services, spare parts, digital support, and operation and maintenance over a five‑year period. Elemental and particle‑size on‑stream analyzers are cited as enabling process control and optimization via accurate, reliable and fast measurements from process streams.

Business model and significance

The contract is structured as an outcome‑based "analyzer as a service" arrangement, allowing customers to purchase defined processing outcomes through performance‑based agreements that integrate equipment, services and digital capabilities. Metso's Life Cycle Services focus on continuous long‑term performance improvement measured by mutually agreed targets, and the LCS model is established globally with more than 600 active contracts.
