LOTTE Chemical Honored for Rural ESG Initiatives

Recognition and Awards

LOTTE Chemical was awarded the “Rural ESG Practice Recognition Plaque” and an accolade from the Chairperson of the Commission for Shared Growth at the Rural ESG Awards Ceremony. This event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Korea Foundation for Cooperation between Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs and Agriculture.

Environmental and Social Contributions

Since 2022, LOTTE Chemical has made annual contributions to the Fund for Cooperation with Rural Communities. The company has been acknowledged for its efforts in rural coexistence and sustainable development, including reducing air pollutant emissions and donating agricultural products from local communities near its business sites.

Site-Specific Initiatives

The Daesan Plant received commendation from the Geum River Basin Environmental Office for its air pollutant reduction efforts. Meanwhile, the Yeosu Plant signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeollanam-do Province and Yeosu City to minimize disposable product use and promote resource circulation through ESG campaigns.

Community Support

LOTTE Chemical has been actively involved in social contribution activities, such as donating agricultural products to underprivileged groups and providing psychological counseling for migrant women. The company also supports veterans and patriotic families with daily necessities.
