- The project will combine wind power with green hydrogen production in Ånge municipality.
- OX2's wind farm in Marktjärn will have an annual production capacity of 1.4 TWh.
- Lhyfe plans to produce up to 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per day with a 300 MW electrolysis capacity.
- Velarion will build a carbon-neutral fertilizer plant using green hydrogen to produce green ammonia.
Project Overview
Lhyfe, OX2, and Velarion are collaborating to establish a green hydrogen-based industrial cluster in Ånge municipality, Sweden. The project will integrate wind power and large-scale green hydrogen production to create carbon-neutral products.
Wind Power and Hydrogen Production
OX2 is developing a wind farm in Marktjärn, Torpshammar, with an annual production capacity of 1.4 TWh. This green electricity will power Lhyfe's hydrogen production unit in Torpshammar, which aims to produce up to 100 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, with an electrolysis capacity of approximately 300 MW.
Green Ammonia Production
Velarion will construct one of the world's first carbon-neutral fertilizer plants within this cluster. The facility will use green hydrogen to produce green ammonia, significantly reducing carbon emissions in fertilizer production and meeting the growing demand for sustainable products.
Project Development
The project is currently in the conceptual phase. Its implementation depends on the outcomes of this study, the granting of operating licenses and environmental permits, and financial investment decisions.
Regional Impact
This initiative aims to create a sustainable local industry, enhance the attractiveness of Ånge for further industrial establishments, and contribute to the region's economy and job creation. The long-term goal is to position Ånge as a leading player in the sustainable industrial sector.
