UPM names Joonas Rauramo Executive Vice President, UPM Energy

Appointment

Joonas Rauramo has been appointed Executive Vice President, UPM Energy and will join UPM’s Group Executive Team reporting to President and CEO Massimo Reynaudo. He will assume the role on October 1, 2026 and will be based in Helsinki.

Professional background

Born in 1983, Rauramo joins from Coolbrook Oy, where he has served as CEO since 2022 and earlier as Executive Vice President, Strategy & Industrial Partnerships. From 2007 to 2021 he held various roles at Fortum, most recently Vice President, Wind and Vice President, Solar & Wind Development. He serves on the board of Korkia and is a member of the IEA Technology and Innovation Advisory Board. He holds a Master of Science in Technology from Helsinki University of Technology and a Master of Science in Economics from Aalto University School of Economics.

Experience and remit

UPM cites his experience in power generation and industrial decarbonisation, plus expertise in energy markets, project financing, M&A and global partnerships, as relevant to developing the company’s energy business and supporting the transition to reliable, emission‑free electricity.
