Asahi Kasei's Oita Plant Earns EcoVadis Platinum for Sustainability

EcoVadis Platinum Medal

The Oita Plant of Japan Elastomer Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Asahi Kasei and Crasus Chemical Inc., has been awarded the Platinum Medal Sustainability Rating by EcoVadis in October 2025. This prestigious recognition places the plant in the top 1% of all companies evaluated for sustainability.

Second Platinum Achievement

This marks the second time Japan Elastomer has achieved the Platinum rating, with the first being in 2023. The consistent recognition underscores the plant's commitment to sustainability practices.

Assessment Criteria

EcoVadis evaluates companies based on four key themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The Oita Plant received particularly high scores in the Environment and Labor & Human Rights categories.
