Project completion

Grace opened its expanded fine chemical contract development and manufacturing (CDM) facility in South Haven, MI after a 21-month project and marked the milestone with a ribbon cutting attended by company executives, local leaders and more than 200 employees.

Capacity and equipment

The expansion adds 25% more capacity and new large-scale equipment including a 4,000-gallon HASTELLOY® centrifuge and three 4,000-gallon multi-use chemical reactors to support increased Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) demand.

Capabilities and market focus

The South Haven site serves the pharmaceutical market—producing APIs, regulatory starting materials (RSMs) and drug intermediates—covering quantities from kilos to tons and supporting stages from research and development to clinical trials, scale-up and commercial production.

Compliance and supply-chain integration

The facility operates in compliance with FDA current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations and integrates with Grace’s Tyrone, PA site to offer customers flexibility within a U.S.-based supply chain.
