Investment Overview

GC Ventures (GCV), a subsidiary of PTT Global Chemical PLC (GC), has invested in UK-based Interface Polymers Ltd. This strategic move aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of plastic recycling within the GC Group.

Polarfin® Additives

Interface Polymers has developed Polarfin® additives that enable the compatibilization of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) with various other plastics such as PET, PA, and EVOH. This technology addresses a significant challenge in recycling mixed plastics, particularly in food packaging.

Technological Benefits

Polarfin® additives, when added to PP and PE at low rates, improve recyclability, ease of processing, and surface adhesion to other materials like plastics, paints, and adhesives. This innovation supports the circular economy by making plastic waste management more effective.

Partnership with allnex

In addition to the investment, GC's subsidiary allnex has entered into a development partnership with Interface Polymers. The collaboration aims to leverage Interface Polymers' technology to create innovative resins that facilitate recyclable solutions for the packaging industry.
