Operational model

The project is organised as an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). KYORAKU CO., LTD. is responsible for installing, owning and operating the generation system on site, while the Hiroshima Plant purchases and consumes the electricity generated.

Expected benefits

Floating deployment allows use of renewable energy without new land development and enables direct on-site consumption, which reduces transmission losses and grid fees and improves power-use efficiency. The company intends to switch part of the plant's power to the generated renewable electricity to help reduce CO2 emissions.
