On October 2, a fire broke out at the Chevron El Segundo Refinery around 9:30 pm. The incident occurred at a processing unit near the southeast corner of the facility.
Response and Safety Measures
Chevron, along with emergency services from El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, successfully extinguished the fire. All personnel and contractors were accounted for, with no injuries reported. Chevron's Health Safety and Environmental team conducted mobile air monitoring as a precaution.

Chevron has initiated an internal investigation to determine the fire's cause. The company is collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies, including CalOSHA, CALOSPR, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District, to monitor the situation.
