Facility Expansion
Evonik has increased the production capacity for ThreAMINO® (L-Threonine) at its subsidiary Evonik Agroferm Zrt. in Kaba, Hungary, to 30,000 metric tons. The expanded plant officially began operations on November 22, with representatives of the Hungarian government in attendance.

The expansion included enhancements to fermentation and processing capacities. The facility now employs state-of-the-art membrane filtration and crystallization technologies, resulting in improved yield. These advancements enable Evonik to meet the growing demand for L-Threonine (feed grade 98.5%) and support efficient animal nutrition.

L-Threonine, marketed by Evonik as ThreAMINO®, is an essential amino acid that animals must obtain through their feed. Optimal threonine content in feed improves intake, weight gain, and nutritional value while reducing nitrogen release by balancing the crude protein content according to the animals' nutritional needs.
