Introduction
Evonik has introduced BoruCare® Capsin, a new plant-based product designed to support the dairy industry by addressing nutrient deficiency during early lactation and mitigating heat stress in dairy cows.
Product Composition
Developed in collaboration with Heidi Botanicals, BoruCare® Capsin is rich in capsaicinoids, polyphenols, and flavonoids. These compounds enhance the nutritional status, nutrient efficiency, and milk yield of dairy cows, especially during stressful periods.
Production Process
The product is derived from chili peppers using a proprietary, solvent-free process. This method involves grinding the peppers, standardizing the capsaicinoids content to at least 0.5%, and encapsulating them in a fatty matrix to eliminate pungency, ensuring excellent handling properties.
Environmental Benefits
BoruCare® Capsin is environmentally friendly, utilizing whole chili peppers to retain all secondary metabolites alongside capsaicin. This approach minimizes waste and maximizes the use of natural resources.
Availability and Launch
The product will be commercially available in Europe starting Q4 2025. It will be officially presented at SPACE 2025, an international exhibition for animal farming, held from September 16-18 at the Parc-Expo in Rennes, France.
