EnviTec Biogas AG suspends 2025 dividend while shifting to biomethane

Shareholders voted to carry forward the full balance-sheet profit as of 31 December 2025 and to suspend dividend payments for the 2025 financial year to preserve financial flexibility for the company’s strategic development.

Recent performance and Q1 2026

The Group reported higher total output but a decline in the 2025 result driven mainly by regulatory changes, notably the abolition of double crediting of GHG quotas, and weak plant construction in H1 2025. In Q1 2026 total output was €92.4 million (Q1 2025: €85.3 million) while EBT was €4.1 million (Q1 2025: €8.5 million).

Strategic shift and investments

Management is pursuing a transformation from electricity to biomethane production. The company won EEG connection funding for roughly 16 MW of its electricity portfolio, providing continued operation for 12 years for existing plants and 20 years for new plants. EnviTec plans about €100 million of investments (including at‑equity participations) for 2026–2029 to convert and newly construct plants and expand gas‑processing capacity, aiming to increase biomethane output by 2031.

Market, regulation and outlook

Management notes higher GHG quota prices and RED III as supportive through 2040 but flags political uncertainty: a cabinet draft implementing the EU Gas Internal Market Directive could permit capping grid connections after 10 years. The company expects 2026 total output of €330–370 million and EBT of €5–15 million, with improving revenues and results from 2027 as plant construction orders, service activities and biomethane production grow.
