Eni Launches Eni Industrial Evolution for Industrial Transformation

Company Transition

As of January 1, 2026, Eni has transferred its Refining Evolution & Transformation unit to a newly established company, Eni Industrial Evolution S.p.A. This move is aimed at managing traditional assets such as refineries and depots in Europe and the Middle East, while also focusing on industrial transformation from a circular economy perspective.

Asset Management

The scope of Eni Industrial Evolution includes the refineries of Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi, Taranto, and Livorno, as well as a stake in the Milazzo Refinery joint venture. It also encompasses the Robassomero plant, the Research Center South in San Filippo del Mela, and primary logistics assets like depots and pipelines. Additionally, the company holds shareholdings in Ecofuel S.p.A. and Costiero Gas Livorno S.p.A.

Operational Strategy

The corporate operation aims to develop new supply chains in industrial transformation, leveraging expertise and technologies from downstream activities. Processing activities of raw materials and semi-finished products in the refineries, along with the reception, handling, storage, and delivery of products, will be managed through contracts between Eni and Eni Industrial Evolution. Licenses and authorizations, including customs ones, will be transferred accordingly.

Leadership

Umberto Carrara has been appointed as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eni Industrial Evolution, overseeing the company's strategic direction and operations.
