Eni and the Government of The Gambia, represented by the Minister of Energy and Petroleum Honourable Nani Juwara, signed a Petroleum Exploration Development and Production License Agreement for Block A1 offshore the Republic of The Gambia.

Block A1 covers an area of 1,300 km² and lies in water depths ranging from 1,250 to 3,300 metres. The block is located on an Atlantic margin where hydrocarbon discoveries have been made.
