Introduction

Elkem ASA has introduced SILBIONE™ LSR Select EC 70, a medical-grade liquid silicone rubber, on 23 October, 2025. This material is designed for advanced healthcare devices, particularly wearable and diagnostic tools.

Material Features

SILBIONE™ LSR Select EC 70 combines high electrical conductivity, certified biocompatibility, and enhanced process control. It offers resistivity below 10 ohm-centimeters, making it suitable for flexible electronics and advanced sensors.

Applications and Benefits

The material's liquid injection moldable form allows for intricate designs, while its durability and flexibility ensure long-term performance. It has passed ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity and ISO 10993-10 skin sensitization tests, making it ideal for prosthetics, diagnostic tools, and flexible circuits.

Manufacturing and Sustainability

Engineered for use with Elkem’s LSR Select™ technology, the material supports precision liquid injection molding. This system enables manufacturers to fine-tune cure kinetics, offering greater control, faster cycle times, and reduced waste, aligning with sustainability goals.
