Siemens launches Drivetrain Analyzer Onsite — on‑prem AI analytics for industrial drives

Key highlights
  • Siemens released Drivetrain Analyzer Onsite, an on‑premises drivetrain analytics solution that runs entirely on industrial PCs to satisfy strict data‑sovereignty and latency requirements.
  • The first module, DTA Onsite – Monitoring, performs local AI‑based condition monitoring using PTP‑synchronized vibration and analog data from Connection Modules CM VIB, CM FPP and CM IOT.
  • The software uses a containerized architecture with MQTT, gRPC and OPC UA interfaces for integration into SCADA, edge platforms and maintenance systems.
  • Targeted at variable‑load industrial equipment—extruders, packaging and textile machines, pumps, compressors and conveyors—DTA Onsite complements Siemens' cloud drivetrain analytics launched last year for fleet‑level analysis.

On‑prem drivetrain analytics

Drivetrain Analyzer Onsite (DTA Onsite) is an on‑premises analytics solution that evaluates drive data entirely within the user’s infrastructure to meet data‑sovereignty and latency requirements.

Monitoring module and data processing

The initial module, DTA Onsite – Monitoring, provides continuous condition monitoring of mechanical and electrical drivetrain components using locally executed Industrial AI for pattern recognition and anomaly detection; it captures high‑resolution, PTP‑synchronized vibration and analog signals via Connection Modules (CM VIB, CM FPP, CM IOT), preprocesses data locally, and runs analytics on the industrial PC so data remains on site.

User interface and integration

The solution delivers plant‑level overviews, KPI trend views and diagnostic dashboards accessible through a standard web browser and uses a containerized architecture with documented interfaces (MQTT, gRPC, OPC UA) for integration into SCADA, edge platforms, industrial IPC environments and maintenance software.

Use cases and relation to cloud offering

DTA Onsite targets environments with strict data‑sovereignty, low‑latency or isolated network needs and is suitable for variable‑load equipment (extruders, packaging and textile machines), infrastructure (pump stations, compressors, conveyors) and motion‑control applications; it complements a separate cloud‑based Drivetrain Analyzer for cross‑site and fleet‑level analyses.
