Product overview
DOWSIL™ IE-5619 DWOR Emulsion is a silicone-organic hybrid, fluoro-alternative durable water and oil repellent developed for the textile industry. It is positioned to deliver dual repellency against oil-based contaminants (olive oil, cooking oils, motor oil, sebum) and water-based stains (wine, coffee, milk) while preserving softness, breathability and aesthetics and supporting tape and logo adhesion.
Performance and processing
The product is supplied as a 30% solids concentrate for conventional finishing and is claimed effective across synthetic, natural and blended fibers, subject to confirmation for each fabric source. Dow states the chemistry is designed to retain repellency after 20+ home laundering cycles, with performance dependent on fabric and formulation. Typical use levels are 1–3% based on the weight of the fabric, with typical curing of 1–3 minutes at a minimum of 150°C; the system is intended to integrate into existing finishing processes and be optimized to customer-specific targets.
Availability and support
DOWSIL IE-5619 is available globally to textile chemical formulators, mills and brands. Dow says it will work with customers to understand application needs and support product validation on specific fabrics and finishing lines, and samples can be requested through Dow representatives or customer support.
