Covestro's Imagio® Integrated into Autodesk VRED

Key highlights
  • Imagio\u00ae is integrated into Autodesk VRED 2026.1, offering digital material twins for polycarbonate materials.
  • The integration allows designers to access photorealistic representations of Covestro's polycarbonate materials.
  • Future functionalities will include simulation tools for mechanical properties, rheology, and weathering simulations.

Integration Overview

Covestro's digital sample library, Imagio®, is now integrated into Autodesk VRED 2026.1. This platform offers tens of thousands of photorealistic digital material twins for polycarbonate materials, allowing designers to work virtually without needing physical prototypes.

Design Efficiency

The integration provides designers with immediate access to photorealistic representations of Covestro's polycarbonate materials, including color, gloss, transparency, translucency, and surface texture. This reduces the need for physical samples, saving time, money, and emissions associated with transport and sample production.

Future Developments

Future functionalities are planned, such as connections to simulation tools for mechanical properties, rheology, and weathering simulations. These tools will enable designers to simulate material behavior over time, visualizing changes in appearance due to exposure to elements like sun and rain.

Availability

The Imagio® integration is available with Autodesk VRED Professional 2026.1. Users need an Imagio® account, accessible to business customers and public organizations. For users of other visualization platforms, Imagio® remains accessible through its web interface, offering a comprehensive material library with downloadable AxF files compatible with most leading rendering software programs.
