The Supervisory Board has unanimously appointed Klaus Fröhlich as Covestro’s Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Management, effective October 1, 2026; he will succeed Christian Baier, who leaves on September 30, 2026.

Professional background

Fröhlich is currently Group Chief Investment Officer at ADNOC and brings more than 25 years of experience in finance and international investment banking, including prior roles as a CFO in Saudi Arabia and Head of Investment Banking for MENA at Morgan Stanley.

Succession and transition

Christian Baier informed the Supervisory Board in December 2025 that he would not extend his contract, enabling a planned and orderly succession; he will continue to perform his duties until his departure and the Board expressed its thanks for his contribution during a strategically decisive phase and key transformation initiatives.
