Experience and roles
Mattila was CEO of Elisa from 2003 to 2024 and spent a long international career at Ericsson, where he held senior leadership roles including President of Ericsson Finland and COO & Deputy Head of Market Unit, Nordic & Baltic; he currently chairs Orion Corporation and Enento Group and has chaired the Confederation of Finnish Industries, with prior board experience including Sampo Group.
Mandate and process
The Board and Nomination Committee conducted a targeted search to find a chairman with strategic perspective and industrial leadership to support Coolbrook’s next phase. CEO Joonas Rauramo said Mattila’s international board background and leadership experience will help strengthen industrial partnerships and execution as the company advances toward large‑scale commercial deployment, and Mattila said he looks forward to supporting the Board, management and shareholders in that stage.
