Chugai and InxMed sign worldwide license for SPYK04

Chugai has granted InxMed an exclusive worldwide license to develop, manufacture and commercialize SPYK04 for all indications. Financial terms include an upfront payment to Chugai, royalties based on sales after product launch, and a contractual share of any sublicense income InxMed receives.
Candidate and mechanism
SPYK04 is a small-molecule compound discovered by Chugai for the treatment of solid tumors. Described as a “molecular glue,” SPYK04 binds RAF and MEK to induce formation of an inactive RAF–MEK complex, thereby inhibiting proliferative signaling in cancer cells and expected to produce antitumor effects.
Next steps and statements
InxMed will assume responsibility for advancing development, manufacturing and commercialization. Chugai’s CEO said the company expects InxMed to leverage SPYK04’s characteristics to progress development and make the treatment available to patients, and InxMed’s CEO said the collaboration supports their precision oncology strategy and plans to rapidly advance the asset.
