Chevron Corporation announced the appointment of Amit R. Ghai as the new Controller, effective March 1, 2026. Ghai will take over from Alana K. Knowles, who is set to retire in April 2026 after a 38-year tenure with the company.
Ghai's Background
Ghai joined Chevron in 2004 through the Finance MBA program and currently serves as assistant controller. His career spans various finance and operational roles in the U.S., Angola, Singapore, and India. He holds an MBA in finance from the University of Michigan and degrees in chemical engineering from Lamar University and the Institute of Chemical Technology in India.
Knowles' Contributions
Alana K. Knowles began her career at Chevron in 1988, focusing on accounting and finance for North America upstream. She has held numerous leadership roles, including vice president of finance for downstream and chemicals and midstream, and assistant treasurer. Her work has been pivotal in advancing finance professional development and digital transformation within the company.
