Leadership Changes
Maike Schuh, a member of Evonik's Executive Board since April 2023, is leaving the company after a decade. Schuh, a trained lawyer, previously led the accounting unit and became Managing Director of the Performance Materials division in 2022.
Interim Management
Christian Kullmann will temporarily oversee the finance department at the Executive Board level. Dr. Claus Rettig will assume Schuh's operational responsibilities, reporting to Kullmann. Rettig, currently an Associated Member of the Executive Board, will manage these duties alongside his existing role overseeing the Asia-Pacific region.
Contract Extension
The Supervisory Board has extended Thomas Wessel's contract by two years, until August 31, 2028. Wessel, Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director, is also responsible for infrastructure and sustainability. He has been on the Executive Board since 2011.
