Board Appointments

Mary Kurian and Livio Tedeschi have been appointed to BASF's Board of Executive Directors, effective May 1, 2026. Kurian will manage the Chemicals and Nutrition & Care segments, while Tedeschi will oversee the Agricultural Solutions segment.

Retirement

Michael Heinz is set to retire from the Board as planned on April 30, 2026.

Background

Mary Kurian, with a PhD in Materials Science, has held leadership roles at Air Products and BASF, most recently leading BASF’s Care Chemicals division. Livio Tedeschi, holding a PhD in Organic Chemistry, has been with BASF since 2003, focusing on crop protection and leading the Agricultural Solutions division since 2022.

Strategic Changes

The appointments align with BASF's strategic direction under its “Winning Ways” strategy, with Tedeschi preparing for a planned partial IPO of the Agricultural Solutions division.
