Introduction
Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. announced that its Prasus™ line of bio-based and chemically recycled polyethylene will be used for plastic bags at Natural Lawson stores, operated by Lawson, Inc.
Implementation Timeline
Starting January 2026, Lawson will introduce bags made with Prasus™ as their primary material. The rollout will begin in select stores, with plans to expand to all Natural Lawson locations.

This initiative marks the first time the convenience store industry will adopt bags made from a combination of bio-based and recycled polyethylene produced under the mass balance approach.
