Initial regulatory dossiers were submitted in Brazil and Australia in July 2026, with filings in the United States and Argentina planned for 2027. Pending approvals, BASF targets first market introductions around 2030 and projects peak adoption could support more than 50 million hectares globally.
Product profile
Replexor Active is a novel protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) herbicide with broad-spectrum activity on both broadleaf weeds and grasses. Unlike most existing PPOs that mainly target broadleaf species, Replexor also controls key annual grasses such as Eleusine indica, Echinochloa spp. and Setaria spp. It is effective at low use rates and delivers fast-acting weed control.
Agronomic benefits
The product enables no-till farming practices, helping to minimise soil erosion. With PPO resistance in grasses remaining rare, Replexor Active adds an option for managing resistant grass weeds and complements BASF’s existing PPO portfolio, which includes Kixor Active and Tirexor Active.
Strategic significance
BASF positions the registration start as evidence of a strong crop protection innovation pipeline and notes ongoing development of PPO herbicide-tolerant traits to provide additional flexibility in application timing and use.
