BASF launches Lincare™, a flaxseed-derived active for post-laser skincare

Key highlights
  • Lincare™ is derived from flaxseed hull oligosaccharides and formulated at 1% in clinical testing.
  • After non-ablative fractional 1565 nm laser, barrier recovery was 21% faster with Lincare™, enabling recovery ~1.2 days earlier vs placebo.
  • Barrier performance improved up to 2x vs placebo after 14 days and skin density increased up to 16% after 56 days.
  • Visible-aging improvements vs control: 1.8x better forehead fine lines, 1.5x crow's feet, and 1.4x nasolabial folds.

Product and purpose

BASF introduced Lincare™, a naturally derived active based on flaxseed hull oligosaccharides, positioned for post-laser skincare to support recovery and enhance visible rejuvenation after aesthetic procedures.

Clinical findings

In a clinical evaluation following non-ablative fractional 1565 nm laser treatment, a 1% Lincare™ formulation accelerated skin-barrier recovery by 21% versus placebo (about 1.2 days faster). Lincare™ also strengthened barrier performance beyond pre-treatment levels, delivering up to twice the barrier improvement compared with placebo after 14 days, and produced up to 16% greater skin density after 56 days. Clinical assessments recorded greater visible improvements in signs of aging when Lincare™ was used in the post-laser routine: 1.8x for forehead fine lines, 1.5x for crow's feet and 1.4x for nasolabial folds.

Exhibition and wider portfolio

At in-cosmetics Asia 2026 (Booth AC10) BASF showcased Lincare™ alongside innovations spanning sun protection, delivery, cleansing and regeneration, including Tinosorb® A2B, Emulgade® Verde PE, Plantapon® Amino ASP and NeoHelix™ Regenerate, demonstrated via formulation prototypes and technical displays.
