BASF is set to increase production capacity for its hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) at its sites in Pontecchio Marconi, Italy, and Lampertheim, Germany. This expansion is part of a multi-step investment plan aimed at meeting the growing demand for light stabilizers used in durable plastics applications and ensuring a reliable supply for global customers.

Product Details

Exposure to UV radiation can degrade the integrity and durability of plastic materials, leading to issues like cracking and weakening of physical properties. BASF’s HALS products, including Tinuvin®, Chimassorb®, and Uvinul®, play a crucial role in protecting polymers from UV radiation and inhibiting free-radical induced degradation, thereby extending product lifetimes.
