Production Capacity Expansion

Arkema's new Rilsan® Clear transparent polyamide unit in Singapore is now operational, tripling the company's global production capacity. This expansion is a significant step in Arkema's strategic roadmap for Specialty Materials.

The project involved an investment of approximately US$20 million, announced in July 2025. This development is part of Arkema's broader growth initiatives to enhance its capabilities in high-performance polymers.

Market Applications

The new unit is designed to meet the increasing demand for sustainable, high-performance transparent materials. Key markets include eyewear, augmented and virtual reality, smart consumer electronics, industrial filtration, healthcare devices, and home appliances.

Sustainability and Innovation

Rilsan® Clear transparent polyamides offer a combination of high performance, aesthetics, and sustainability. They are lightweight, flexible, and chemically resistant, and are fully recyclable through Arkema’s Virtucycle® program. The flagship grades, Rilsan® Clear Rnew® G850 and G820, contain 45% and 62% bio-based carbon, respectively.
