Project Overview
ANWIL has started constructing two out of three facilities for nitrogen fertilizer production, with a total project value of approximately PLN 1.3 billion. This initiative aims to increase ANWIL's production capacity by around 50% by mid-2022, addressing the demand from Polish farmers and reducing fertilizer imports.
Facilities and Production
The project includes the construction of three new production facilities: one for nitric acid, one for ammonium nitrate solution via neutralization, and one for fertilizer production through drum granulation. These facilities will be built on ANWIL's premises in Włocławek, Poland.
Strategic Partnerships
In April 2019, ANWIL signed an agreement with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG for the turnkey design, delivery, and construction of a nitric acid production facility with a capacity of nearly 1,300 tons per day and a neutralization facility with a capacity of 1,200 tons per day. This is the first of three major contracts for the project, with the other two focusing on granulation and auxiliary facilities.
Production Capacity and Product Portfolio
Upon completion, the third fertilizer production line will increase ANWIL's annual production capacity from 966,000 to 1,461,000 tons. The new line will add products such as thick saltpetre, ammonium sulphate nitrate, nitro-chalk with sulphur, and nitro-chalk with magnesium, featuring improved granule properties.
Employment Impact
The project is expected to create 100 new jobs, adding to ANWIL's current workforce of over 1,300 employees in the Kujawy and Pomorze regions.
