ANDRITZ has finished the first phase of an expansion at its Linz turbogenerator manufacturing site, adding roughly 700 m² of production hall space. The company says the enlargement has doubled turbogenerator production capacity and will be used to assemble, test and prepare particularly high-performance units for global shipment.
Logistics and sustainability
The Linz plant’s direct access to the Danube enables sea-capable logistics for heavy machines, with generators up to 300 metric tons transportable by ship. Energy-efficiency measures were integrated during the expansion to reduce the site’s operational footprint.
Drivers, investment and timeline
The expansion follows an earlier announcement and reflects growing global demand driven by renewable energy deployment; the investment is described as being in the double-digit million-euro range. Work to renovate about 3,000 m² of additional production space is progressing as scheduled and is due for completion in 2028.
Workforce
ANDRITZ has already added around 80 jobs at Linz and plans to recruit about 70 more employees over the coming years, targeting skilled roles in mechanical and electrical engineering, mechatronics, and testing and manufacturing technology.
