Air Liquide wins four-year Valencia home respiratory-care contract for 90,000 patients

Key highlights
  • Four-year contract to care for over 90,000 respiratory patients across 11 Health Departments in Valencia.
  • Continuous telemonitoring from the start for 100% of patients, with predictive AI to flag likely non-adherence within the first week.
  • Personalised care plans, MaskMate® app for mask selection and clinical protocols for high-risk cases such as Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS).
  • Multidisciplinary teams (technicians, doctors, nurses, social workers) coordinated with prescribing departments; team supported crises during the 2024 DANA floods and 2025 Iberian power blackout.

Contract scope

Valencia province awarded Air Liquide a four-year contract to deliver home care for more than 90,000 people with respiratory conditions across 11 Health Departments.

Care model and technology

The service combines personalised care plans and special monitoring for highly dependent patients with continuous telemonitoring for 100% of patients from the start. Predictive AI algorithms are used to identify sleep apnea patients at high risk of non-adherence within the first week so teams can prioritise reinforced human-support interventions in coordination with prescribing physicians. Deployment includes the MaskMate® app for personalised mask selection and specific clinical protocols for high-risk conditions such as Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS).

Clinical teams and resilience

Care will be delivered by multidisciplinary teams—technicians, doctors, nurses and social workers—working closely with prescribing departments. The Spanish team’s operational support was notable during the 2024 DANA floods and the 2025 Iberian Peninsula power blackout.

Expected outcomes

The programme aims to improve treatment adherence and patient outcomes, reduce administrative burden, streamline care pathways and help preserve healthcare system sustainability by managing growing patient volumes while delivering appropriate levels of care.
