Anderson Greenwood Crosby Sanmar Limited expands PRV capabilities

Key highlights
  • Founded from a 1983 JV, the Indian partner Sanmar remained constant while the US partner changed six times (Geosource → Moorco → FMC → Tyco → Pentair → Emerson).
  • Manufacturing capacity is 18,000 valves per year with a factory area of 50,000 sq. ft and an installed base of over 200,000 valves in India.
  • Testing infrastructure includes ASME steam testing, digital benches to 6000 psig, a lift‑assisted device to 380 bar, and in‑house steam, hydrostatic, cryogenic, fugitive‑emission and oxygen‑service testing.
  • At India Energy Week Jan 2026 AGCSL launched the F92 PRV (ASTM A182 Gr F92, Crosby Isoflex) for supercritical superheater/reheater outlets; tested with steam at 321 Kg/Cm2 and rated for >600°C.

Overview

Anderson Greenwood Crosby Sanmar Limited (AGCSL) manufactures pressure relief and safety valves for energy and process sectors, integrating Anderson Greenwood and Crosby product lineages with The Sanmar Group’s manufacturing base and foundry access.

History and institutional context

AGCSL traces to a 1983 joint venture to make Crosby safety relief valves. Over time the US partner changed six times (Geosource, Moorco, FMC, Tyco, Pentair, Emerson) while Sanmar remained the Indian constant, aligning the facility with Emerson product standards and global quality frameworks.

Facilities, capacity and testing

The plant covers 50,000 sq. ft, produces up to 18,000 valves annually and has an installed base exceeding 200,000 valves in India. Certifications include ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and the site operates ASME‑approved steam testing and digital test benches up to 6000 psig; a lift‑assisted device enables testing to 380 bar.

Technical scope and materials

AGCSL maintains extensive in‑house testing (steam, hydrostatic including multi‑post hydro benches, cryogenic, fugitive emission, and oxygen‑service clean room) and works with alloys such as Monel, Hastelloy‑C, Inconel 825, C12A and HVD‑1. The plant has tested large Over‑T valves including a 20" x 24" unit and operates a dedicated Over‑T assembly bay.

Product launch

At India Energy Week (January 2026) AGCSL introduced the F92 pressure relief valve: an ASTM A182 Gr F92 forged body, bonnet and cooling spool with Crosby Isoflex design for supercritical power plant superheater and reheater outlet lines. The valve was steam‑tested at 321 Kg/Cm2 and is suitable for temperatures above 600°C.
