AGC, via AGC Asia Pacific (India) Pvt. Ltd., established an Innovation Hub at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH); the opening ceremony was held on May 21, 2026.
Objectives and scope
The hub is a base for R&D, talent development and industry–academia collaboration in digital transformation (DX), aligned with AGC's medium‑term plan AGC plus‑2026, and designed to address the need for combined manufacturing and digital expertise and for faster global talent acquisition.
Planned activities and deployment
Projects will include AI verification work such as anomaly detection in manufacturing processes and demand forecasting; collaboration will deepen between IITH talent and AGC teams, with intent to deploy the talent and technologies developed in India across AGC production sites worldwide, including Japan and Europe.
