Aemetis brings two more dairy biogas digesters online
- Aemetis now operates 14 dairy digesters receiving manure from 17 dairies, expected to produce about 600,000 MMBtu/year of RNG.
- Two additional dairy biogas digesters have completed construction and started operation as part of the network.
- Aemetis will complete its first Keyes RNG fueling station in the coming weeks, with truck deliveries scheduled to begin November 2026.
- Aemetis has generated $22.8 million of Section 45Z tax credits through August 2026, equivalent to $62 of revenue per MMBtu of dairy RNG.
Operations update
Aemetis’ biogas subsidiary has completed construction and started operation of two additional dairy digesters, bringing the network to 14 digesters that take manure feedstock from 17 dairy facilities. Those digesters are expected to produce about 600,000 MMBtu per year of renewable natural gas (RNG).
Infrastructure and construction
Biogas is routed via 36 miles of Aemetis-owned pipeline to a central biogas-to-RNG facility in Keyes, California, which delivers RNG into the PG&E utility gas pipeline. Aemetis has signed agreements with 50 dairies in the area to install digesters. The two new units used two of 14 biogas cleanup and compression systems acquired from NPL Construction (Centuri); remaining units are intended to shorten construction time for the next 12 digester installations.
Fueling, sales and credits
Aemetis expects to complete its first RNG fueling station in Keyes in the coming weeks, with truck fleet deliveries starting in November 2026 and planned retail pricing below $2 per diesel gallon equivalent. Dairy RNG sales in California generate pipeline RNG revenue plus Section 45Z tax credits, RFS D3 RINs, and LCFS credits. As of end of August 2026 Aemetis reported $22.8 million of Section 45Z credits (about $62 per MMBtu); each MMBtu produces 11.7 D3 RINs currently trading at $2.05, and LCFS credit prices rose from $42 in July 2025 to ~ $90 in October 2026.
