New Facility in Leverkusen
Momentive has opened a new NXT silane production facility in the Leverkusen Chempark, Germany. The opening ceremony was attended by city officials, Chempark representatives, and Momentive’s leadership team.

This state-of-the-art plant doubles Momentive’s production capacity for NXT silanes, which are crucial for manufacturing tires with lower rolling resistance and improved wet traction. The facility aims to support leading tire and automotive customers.
Strategic Location
The Leverkusen site was chosen to better serve European tire customers and ensure a reliable, multi-source supply of NXT silanes globally. This facility complements Momentive’s existing NXT silane plant in Texas City, Texas, and their tire R&D lab in Charlotte, North Carolina.
