Trinseo has inaugurated a new pilot plant and expanded its solution-styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) capacity at its Schkopau, Germany site. This development addresses the growing global demand for S-SBR and the need for quicker innovation cycles in the performance tire market.
Increased Production Capacity
The expansion adds an additional 50 KT of S-SBR capacity to the Schkopau site, boosting Trinseo’s global S-SBR production by 33%. The new pilot plant will design next-generation materials and produce sufficient quantities of new S-SBR formulations for real-life tire testing, meeting tire manufacturers' needs for reduced product validation time.
