Indorama Ventures has acquired ARTLANT’s 700,000-tonne PTA unit located in ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistic Zone, in Sines, Portugal. In 2018, Indorama will invest approximately 150 million euros, combining cash injection and capital expenditure, to restart the plant.
Maintenance and Production Timeline
Maintenance works are scheduled to begin in January 2018, with production expected to commence in the second half of 2018. This timeline aims to ensure the plant is fully operational and meets the company's standards.
Workforce Expansion
During the first half of 2018, the workforce at the ZILS site will increase by 10%. Currently, the site employs 105 direct jobs, and this expansion will support the plant's operational needs.
Export Markets
The total production from the ZILS plant is designated for export. 80% of the output will serve the European market and Turkey, while the remaining 20% will be distributed to the Americas and the Middle East. This strategic distribution aims to strengthen Indorama's market presence globally.
