Investment and Construction

ACTEGA Rhenania GmbH is investing around €10 million in a new laboratory building in Grevenbroich. The foundation stone for the 5,700 square meter facility will be laid on August 18. This new building will be twice the size of the current labs combined and will centralize research and development, quality control, and service under one roof.

Process Optimization

By consolidating these departments, ACTEGA aims to optimize processes and enhance customer support. The new lab will facilitate the development of products such as inner coatings for yogurt lids, which are essential for maintaining freshness and preventing corrosion.

Customer Technology Center

The new building will include a customer technology center, designed by Vollack GmbH & Co. KG. This center will feature miniature production facilities, allowing ACTEGA to better understand and meet customer requirements. It will also enable the company to test new packaging trends like coffee capsules and aluminum trays.

Timeline and Future Plans

The move into the new building is scheduled for mid-2017, after which the old laboratory buildings will be dismantled. The new facility will not only serve ACTEGA Rhenania but also other companies within the ACTEGA division.
