Investment and Capacity Expansion
Evonik Industries is constructing a new production plant for polymer dispersants at its Goldschmidtstrasse site in Essen. This investment, amounting to a double-digit million euro figure, will triple the company's global capacity for polymer dispersants. The plant is scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2015.
Applications of Polymer Dispersants
Polymer dispersants are primarily utilized in water-based systems for paints and printing inks, as well as in high-solid systems with a low proportion of solvent. These dispersants support the trend towards more environmentally friendly and efficient paint systems by increasing color intensity and colorant yield.
Product Line and Benefits
Evonik markets these dispersants under the TEGO® Dispers brand. Due to their viscosity-lowering effect, these products enable the economical production of paints and pigment concentrates by maximizing pigment concentration during dispersion.
