Wacker Metroark Chemicals Private Limited (WMC) is a joint venture between Wacker Chemie AG and Indian partner Metroark, established in 1998 to manufacture and market silicone products in India. Production began in 1999 at the Amtala site near Kolkata, focusing on silicone fluids, emulsions, and rubber compounds.
The company operates two key facilities: Amtala, which specializes in product and process development for cosmetics and personal care, and the larger Panagarh Industrial Park site (165,000 m², operational since 2022). Panagarh produces silicone rubber and ready-to-use compounds for electromobility, medical technology, and electrical sectors. In 2026, WMC commissioned a 15,000 m² expansion at Panagarh for GMP-certified silicone emulsions compliant with EFfCI guidelines, creating 60 jobs and strengthening supply to cosmetics, personal care, textiles, and other industries.
Headquartered in Kolkata with sales offices across major Indian cities and Dhaka, WMC serves local manufacturers and international consumer goods companies as a leading silicone supplier in South Asia.
