The World Heart Federation (WHF) is a non-governmental organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, founded in 1978. Recognized by the World Health Organization as the leading NGO partner in cardiovascular disease prevention, WHF unites over 200 member societies, heart foundations, and patient organizations across more than 100 countries.
Its mission is to promote cardiovascular health for everyone by reducing the global burden of heart disease and stroke, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. WHF supports scientific research, provides education and training, advocates for policy changes, and addresses environmental risk factors such as air pollution and chemical exposures linked to cardiovascular harm.
