World Benchmarking Alliance

About WBA

The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) is a global, multi‑stakeholder, non‑profit organization that develops public, comparative benchmarks to assess how the world’s most influential companies perform on sustainability, human rights, and progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

WBA evaluates a universe of major companies across multiple systems and value chains, publishing transparent methodologies, datasets, and scorecards used by investors, civil society, and policymakers to track performance and encourage accountability. Its portfolio includes the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, the Nature Benchmark, the Food and Agriculture Benchmark, the Digital Inclusion Benchmark, and Just Transition assessments. Companies from energy, materials, and adjacent sectors—including those connected to the chemical value chain—are among those assessed.

WBA’s work supports comparability across firms and alignment with international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and OECD guidelines, providing an evidence base for stewardship, engagement, and policy dialogue.
