N.V. Waterbedrijf Groningen is a Dutch public utility company that supplies clean drinking water for domestic, commercial, and industrial use primarily in the province of Groningen and the city of Groningen, including the former municipality of Eelde.
Formed in 1998 through the merger of N.V. Waterleidingmaatschappij voor de Provincie Groningen (WAPROG) and Gemeentelijk Waterbedrijf Groningen (GWG), it operates as a non-profit naamloze vennootschap owned by Groningen province municipalities. The company sources water from groundwater in the Drents Plateau and surface water from the Drentsche Aa, treating it at facilities in locations such as Nietap, De Groeve, Onnen, and Sellingen.
It delivers approximately 47 billion liters of water annually to 270,000 connection points via a 4,900 km distribution network. Additionally, through a joint venture with Evides called North Water, it provides industrial process water to chemical and manufacturing firms in the region, supporting sustainability initiatives like water reuse and conservation in industrial parks such as Chemie Park Delfzijl.

Cooling now uses industrial water from salt evaporation, cutting drinking-water use 80% (~300,000 m³), trimming total water use 10% and easing regional supply pressure.
