About Vendée Énergie

Vendée Énergie is a French Société d'Économie Mixte (SEM) specializing in the production and distribution of renewable energies. Established in 2002 by the Syndicat Départemental d'Énergie et d'Équipement de la Vendée (SYDEV) and the Conseil Départemental de la Vendée, it serves as a local developer, builder, and operator of green energy facilities in the Vendée department.

The company focuses on onshore wind (62 MW installed), photovoltaic solar (42 MWc), biogas from methanization, green hydrogen (300 kg/day production), and BioGNV for decarbonized mobility. Its projects generate approximately 170 GWh annually, supplying over 50,000 households and representing 21% of Vendée's onshore renewable electricity and photovoltaic production.

Vendée Énergie holds a minority stake (0.5%) in the Noirmoutier offshore wind farm (512.4 MW capacity), which entered commercial operation in 2026 off the Bay of Biscay. The company aims to enable Vendée to produce over 50% of its energy needs locally by 2030 using wind, solar, biomass, and marine resources.
