US Airways Group, Inc. was a United States–based airline holding company and the parent of US Airways. Through US Airways, US Airways Express (operated by regional partners), and US Airways Shuttle, the company provided scheduled passenger and cargo air transportation across North America and to select international destinations.
The airline’s lineage traces back to Allegheny Airlines, which rebranded as USAir and later as US Airways. Key hubs included Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. In 2013, US Airways Group merged with AMR Corporation to create American Airlines Group Inc., with operations consolidated under the American Airlines brand. The US Airways brand was fully retired in 2015.
