Teollisuuden Voima Oyj

About TVO

Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) is a Finnish nuclear power company that owns and operates the Olkiluoto power plant in Eurajoki. The site comprises three units: two boiling water reactors (OL1 and OL2) and the OL3 EPR, which entered commercial operation in 2023. TVO produces low‑carbon baseload electricity for Finland’s grid and energy‑intensive industry.

TVO is owned by a consortium of Finnish industrial and energy companies and operates under the Mankala cost‑price principle, supplying electricity to its shareholders at production cost. The company covers the full nuclear lifecycle, including spent fuel management through Posiva Oy, a joint venture with Fortum responsible for Finland’s deep geological repository at Olkiluoto. TVO’s operations are regulated by Finnish and EU nuclear authorities with emphasis on long‑term safety, reliability, and security of supply.
